Tips
To buy or not to buy (BUY I say, BUY, BUY, BUY!)
By Lord Howe (RNZTNQ)
I respectfully disagree with Long Chi Gu's (T1VRUT) assessment of whether to buy defensive buildings or not. What he doesn't mention is that purchasing a defensive building has the following advantages:
1) No upkeep
2) Never lost in battle
3) Buildings perform 100% in every battle
However, with defensive units you have the following disadvantages:
1) Upkeep due every hour for the entire life of the unit, making it impossible to predict their ultimate cost
2) Unknown chance of loss in battle
3) Units may not perform 100% every battle: http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?t=7
Therefore, it is quite advantageous to devise a plan to continually expand your defensive buildings because:
1) You can predict their cost to infinity
2) You never lose a building in battle
3) Buildings perform at 100% ability, 100% of the time
4) They have no impact on your income

Always buy the lower priced!
When you have two properties with vary similar p/h (both green or blue), you should ALWAYS buy the lowest priced one because of the time involved to generate the income to buy the second one AND the lost income accured in that time.

My level is too high for my units. Help!
By Long Chi Gu (T1VRUT)
This is an easy situation to get into. You've been playing the missions mode, and suddenly find yourself at level 40 with only the units, allies and buildings required to do missions. Everyone can defeat you, your win / lose percentage is plummeting and, let's face it, it is disheartening. Is there anything you can do about it?
Well, you can reset your game and start over. However that feels a little like giving up. Fortunately there are other strategies that can help.
Firstly, stop doing those missions. This will slow your level progression, and give you the time to gain the resources you need to buy more suitable units. If necessary, disband everything except the money-earning buildings, and just accept the losses.
This does take some planning. You should figure out what units you want, and how much money you need. You can't expect to quickly acquire 650 carriers and 400 B-2 bombers, and you may end up settling for less.
While you're accumulating resources, always put your money in the vault. You're a target. Make sure that if you're attacked there's no money for your opponents to steal.
My advice could end there, but I appreciate that this approach is a little boring. Well, there are modifications to these tactics.
Now, it's actually rare to find someone who only does missions. In general, players will have other units in their armies. While you're gaining resources, there are some things you can do with these units that might maintain or even improve your win / lose percentage.
Take a look around at other players. It is not uncommon to find players with poor armies for their levels, but surprisingly high win / lose ration. How do they do it? The answer is careful targeting.
At any level, there are always those players whose attack and defense capabilities are poorer than your own. What's really important here is their defenses, both in units and buildings. Mostly, units are more important to defense. Learn to assess their defenses, and your offensive capabilities, and only attack when you have the advantage. If necessary keep a list of potential opponents, and dig out a calculator to do the math.
Be careful not to attack the same player over and over again. This is becoming unacceptable behavior by the players of the game. Three times in an hour seems to be the limit, especially if you take money from them.
Which brings up a good point. You're in money-making mode. One source of money is your fellow players. This is World War, not World Charity. Be ruthless. Many players leave substantial amounts on money in the open, either because they're asleep, away from the keyboard, or because they don't like paying a 10% overhead to keep their money safe.
Now, suppose you can't find many players at your own level to attack. What do you do then? Well, there are a couple of options. Firstly, lurk on the sanctions list, and attack players of substantially lower level than yourself. Anyone can be attacked on the list, except for players from your own country. I don't think allies can be attacked either.
Secondly, examine the comments boards of other players. There will be links to those potential opponents that have left remarks or conversations there to see if they can be attacked, and what their capabilities are. The nature of the game allows you to attack players of significantly lower level than yourself, so make use of this.
Finally, keep your hit points low. This has already been discussed elsewhere in the tips. This really does work.
Needless to say, you will receive complaints.
Attacking someone of lower level than yourself will be regarded as unacceptable behavior by some players. That your capabilities are about the same as those you are attacking is overlooked. You shouldn't be at the level you are, remember? Also, why is that unfair, but someone with 1000 aircraft carriers attacking you at the same level is okay? This is a double standard.
Retreating to below 27 health is sometimes regarded as cowardice. That's plain stupid. There's no rule that states if you attack someone they have the automatic right to attack back. Ignore such blathering. I repeat, this game is World War. Not World Peace. Ultimately you want to win.
You will probably be sanctioned. If performed as the result of being attacked, this is the action of someone with a small mind who can't be bothered to improve their game. Personally I would like to see sanctioning removed. I do partially agree with sanctioning someone because of insulting, sexist, racist or vulgar actions on the comment boards.
I need not say this, but don't get into flame wars on the comments boards. Do not talk trash or generally attract attention. If you piss someone off because of something you've said, you deserve everything you get. Make friends and allies, because if some dimwit decides to be a pain, you can use your alliances to take action. Incidentally there's no reason why friends have to be allies.

Buildings for defense and income
By Kammer (wch7qv)
On a previous tip, the player opted to go units over buildings to boost thier defense and up thier attack power. One thing that the player discounted is the fact that there is upkeep and longevity considerations. Buildings have no upkeep and also incidentially do not go obsolete, as they all add to your defensive points. There is, I believe, no limit to the amount of buildings used to defend an attack, so they never go obsolete. Once bought they are always useful. Units go obsolete when you get to a higher level and then you have to sell them and upgrade to the better unit, losing half the buying cost of the unit. Also on top of that the new units will normally have a higher upkeep. The intial cost of buildings can be high when compared to units intial costs, but in the long run upkeep and selling will make units cost more.
Units with high defense and lower attack points, tend to cost less and have lower upkeep costs than high attack units. Getting these defensive units can stave off attacks, giving you time to build income and defensive buildings. Finding a balance of building income and defensive buildings can pay off in the long run. The income growth you gain from compensating with defensive buildings can make up for the loss of attack points latter by giving you more hourly income to buy more of the top offensive units, which incidentially have higher upkeep. The thing you sacrifice is time, as it takes some camping out at a lower level to give you time to build up.
If you take this approach, you will be a tank that can take most attacks at first, then when you have loads of income you can build up offensively quickly and easily. Investing early for income and defense makes it possible.
I guess if you are in a rush to level up and to have the ablitiy to attack others, then the other method is good. But I speculate that you will have a harder time latter, when your income has a harder time keeping up with the elite units" upkeep when you level.
This is one player's perspective and by all means not the only way to play the game. I just find that the journey is the real pleasure in the game and I take my time in leveling.

Getting a little more for your money.
By Kicken Meinazz (USRPM)
As many others have stated, this game revolves a lot around your income. Here is a way to gain a little (or a lot) more from your Honor Points. Honor Points go up in value based upon your income. I recently had 11 HP that I wanted to cash in. Each was worth roughly $218 million To cash them all in at once, I would have had 2.398 billion in my hands....wooohooo!!! What I did instead, was cash them in one at a time, buying income properties with the proceeds....as my income went up, so did the value of the HP's. Here is a list of the values each went for:
HP
1: $218 mil
2: $220 mil
3: $221 mil
4,5: $223 mil (I cashed in 2 this time to get a Nuc. Facility)
6: $227 mil
7: $228 mil
8: $231 mil
9: $234 mil
10: $236 mil
11: $238 mil
total: $2.499 bil
By taking my time and buying income properties after cashing in each HP, I was able to make $101million more then cashing in all 11 at one time. Yes it took a couple of minutes longer, but well worth it in my opininon.

One more thought on Defensive Buildings
By MJ (ZNSRV)
One additional point to add on the subject of defensive buildings would apply to those of us with a lower number of allies. If you’re like me and you don’t have the maximum permissible number of allies for the level you are at, defensive buildings become the only way to come out on top. For example, I am hovering around level 42 and I have 50 allies. As soon as I was able I purchased 150 B2 bombers, each attacking at 110. To cover my defenses I purchased 150 Aircraft carriers defending at 60. Granted I won almost every time I attacked, but I also lost almost every time I was attacked. I didn’t take a genius to determine that 150 B2 bombers carries an attack value of 16,500 points…while the strongest defensive Aircraft carriers only defended at 9000. There was no way that I could counter an attack from anyone with a maximum fleet of B2 Bombers. The only way I could repel these attacks was to amass a huge number of defensive buildings. I needed to get my defensive points above 16,500—that meant adding at least 7500 defensive points from buildings to supplement my 9000 points from my Aircraft carrier fleet. It took a while, dumping money into defensive buildings (and income buildings to help me make more money to buy more defensive buildings), but now I can defeat almost anyone that tries to attack me. It was expensive, but it worked.
Happy Hunting.

Starting tips
By WACK-A-n00b (25TVKT)
When starting, buy or recruit a maximum of 4 alliance members, and never comment on other players profiles.
There are several reasons for this.
1. A player with 4 members can ONLY be seen by players with 1-4 members. That means you get attacked by small armies and attack small armies.
2. Most players at this alliance lvl don't optimize defense meaning easy wins with very low cost and the same reward.
3. You only need 12 units, meaning even at lvl ~20 the 24 best offense and defense units cost $9.6 million with minimal upkeep, leaving nearly all of your income to build and get ready for real fun.
4. As long as you never comment, no huge alliance or higher lvl player can find you to attack.
This does not mean you can't get an alliance ready. Add your code to the list on this site every week, and wait. Don't deny or accept, and when you are ready you can jump the alliance from 4 to 1000( maybe :) ).
Bottom lines,
small alliance=low cost=more money making buildind faster
Small alliance=easy wins=more money&faster/easier leveling

Running Lean and Mean
By Lord Howe (RNZTNQ)
I've seen a lot of people with what appear to be very cluttered and wasteful armies. For example, one particular player has 10,000+ Mini Gunners, 10,000+ Marines, 10,000+ Humvees, and so on, at level 31. He's a member of a group and one of their philosophies is this somehow intimidates players when they look at their profile. To me it's encouragement to strike because any player spending money on units they *can't* take into battle isn't spending that money on defense against me.
Quick tips on keeping a lean and mean army:
1. If you're building income and camping, disband all offensive units. If you aren't attacking, you're paying their upkeep for nothing!
2. Chose units wisely; if you're camping, why buy a Stiletto for 4,500 units/hour for 35 defense points when you can buy the Heavy Equipment Transporter for 1,000/hour less?
3. Sell unused units that are leftovers from previous levels and focus on better units that are now available.
4. Obviously if you're on this site, you know about using the building calculator. Did you know there is now a unit calculator?
5. If you're building income and camping, purchase the buildings as quickly as possible. That way the building is 'working' for you sooner. This is especially effective before going to bed or on vacation.
6. Know what you go to battle with and disband everything you don't need. For example, at level 24 I am limited to 360 of my best units. Any more than that is costing me money. I don't even keep a reserve -- I buy units as I lose them so that I don't have to pay for unused reserves.

Slow And Deliberate Leveling
By Lord Howe (RNZTNQ)
To level, I cycle through the following phases:
Growth Phase: During a growth phase I'll purchase only the maximum number of defensive units that I can deploy at my level. The units I purchase have the best upkeep-to-defense ratio. For example, at level 23 the only units I'll own that have an upkeep are 345 Heavy Equipment Transports, which provide the highest per-unit defense with a upkeep-to-defense ratio of 100:1 ($100 per hour for every point of defense the unit provies). That maximizes my defensive posture at the lowest possible upkeep. Then every morning I spend the night's money on income buildings and every evening I spend the days' income on defensive buildings. You can hold this phase as long as you can. It takes patience and is boring, but effective.
During growth phase I don't attack anyone because my offensive values are extremely low; 3,480 in the example above.
Hot Tip; super-charge your war chest by setting this up before going on vacation or a long weekend, during which you know you won't be actively battling. You'll pull down the maximum amount of money every hour while maintaining a solid defense to protect your cash.
Level Phase: During the level phase I'll max my attack units and if I can afford it (depending on the success of my growth phases) my defense units. I'll then go on several campaigns of attacking as much as possible without farming, in order to level up. I don't level more than 5 levels before switching back to the growth phase, to avoid getting to big for my britches, so to speak.
Hot Tip; trade honor points for a lump sum of cash to drastically re-arrange your units between phases or even at benchmark levels. For example, once you hit level 25, disband all Stilettos and replace them with Aircraft Carriers (if you have the income to support them of course).

Trading HP for Cash – The Right Way
By Ramrod (R11TTN)
Ok, so you’ve accumulated a bunch of HP and it’s time to cash them in and ramp up your income. Here’s the thing. The higher your income, the more the president gives you per point, so do it slowly. Drop 10 points on the pres, and go buy a few buildings to increase your income. Now go visit the pres again. He is much more impressed with you now and will offer you much more money for your next 10 points, and do not succumb to temptation and drop 100 points on him at once <DUH>.

How to keep from being repeatedly attacked
By Long Chi Gu (T1VRUT)
Some consider repeatedly attacking a person to be bad form, worthy of
being sanctioned. Nonetheless, it's within the rules of the game, so
it will happen. Fortunately there are two tactics to reduce this.
Firstly, always move your money into the vault. You become a much less
attractive target if there's no money to be made from repeatedly
attacking you. You pay a 10% margin, but not doing this can cost
millions.
Of course you have to sleep or go to work sometime, and income can
accumulate while you're otherwise occupied. Also, some attackers are
after XP or revenge or to improve their victory percentages.
Nonetheless, there is a way to manage this.
Before exiting the game, make sure you hit points are very low.
Preferably below 27. At this point you can't be attacked until you
regenerate. Once your HP exceeds 26, you can be attacked again, but
with a little luck only once as your HP ducks below 27 again.
Only keep your HP high if you're actively campaigning or, obviously,
if you've leveled up.

Finding Allies
By Long Chi Gu (T1VRUT)
It seems as though there is a competition to see how many allies one can acquire. In truth, this is an important activity, but not that important.
Each ally you gain allows the use of three units in combat. However each level earned only allows the use of five more allies. So at level 10, you can only use 50 allies. You might have 100 allies, but the other 50 can't be used until you've gained the necessary levels. So there's no huge rush.
The obvious place to find allies is on the Battle screen. However you can only see enemies from a country other than your own. Suppose you only want allies from your own country? Where do you go then? The solution is the Sanctions screen. This has the benefit of putting you in touch with people who have done something to rile someone up. This is a valuable trait. Remember the old adage, "any fool can make friends. To make enemies requires real talent."
While on the subject of allies and the number of units they can use, one phenomenon I've seen on many occasions is the accumulation of low level units, especially troops.
However tempted you may be, hoarding 10,000 fireteams is not going to help you. (No, I'm not kidding.) Even at level 200, you can never utilize them all. Instead of spending the money stick it in the vault or spend it on buildings.
Kudos: 42
Some explination
You only can use a specific amount of units, so you can buy for example 5000 minigunners, but if you are level 20, you can only use 300.
You only use the best units for attacking as for defending. So if you are level 20, you can buy 300 units with the highest defense points and 300 units with the highest attack points.
Besides that, you can invest in defense buildings. These are unlimited, but expensive compared to the units.

Want to BE THE BEST up to LVL 100 ? (a Few Milestones)
By Ajay710 (213VTM)
As most of u must have realized my now , Income in World War is everything ! Next comes Defence pointsand only then comes ur Attack points.
I have compiled a small but i think useful set of milestones which will help u guage ur actual advancement in the game , income wise in jumps of 10 lvls up to lvl 100.
LVL 10 ; Units Controlled: 150
Best Units Possible :
Atk: Harrier Jet (24 pts)
Def: Naval Tanket (20 Pts)
Total Units for top Atk nd Def = 300 ,
Upkeep=570 k
From the above it is clear that u MUST have a minimum income of 570k (to support a fleet of 150 naval tankers and 150 harrier jets) in addition to Defensive buildings to be the best at lvl 10 and do not forget, you will need additional income to progress , i would suggest 1 milto 2 mil per hour( or more) to be a safe bet at LVL 10 so as to build defensive buildings as well as income buildings side by side
I will be using similar conventions without the explainations below:
LVL 20 ; Units Controlled: 300
Best Units Possible :
Atk: B-1 Lancer (50pts)
Def: Heavy Equipment Transporter(35 Pts)
Total Units for top Atk nd Def = 600 ,
Upkeep=2,850 k
minimum income :2,850 k
Safe income : 5mil- 10 mil per hour
LVL 30 ; Units Controlled: 450
Best Units Possible :
Atk: X-20 Supersonic Aircraft (68pts)
Def: Armored Snow Hovercraft (48pts)
Total Units for top Atk nd Def = 900 ,
Upkeep=$8,640 k
minimum income :$8,640 k
Safe income : 15 to 20 mil per hour
LVL 40 ; Units Controlled: 600
Best Units Possible :

Def: Aircraft Carrier(60pts)
Total Units for top Atk nd Def = 1200 ,
Upkeep=$22,200 k
minimum income :$22,200 k
Safe income : 35to 40mil per hour
LVL 50 ; Units Controlled: 750
Best Units Possible :
SAME AS LVL 40
Total Units for top Atk nd Def = 1500 ,
Upkeep=$27,750 k
minimum income $27,750 k
Safe income : 60to 80 mil per hour
LVL 60 ; Units Controlled: 900
Best Units Possible :
Atk: B-2 Bomber(110pts)
Def: Elite Dreadnoughts (68pts)
Total Units for top Atk nd Def = 1800 ,
Upkeep=$90 mil
minimum income $90 mil
Safe income : 120 - 140 mil per hr
LVL 70 ; Units Controlled: 1050
Best Units Possible :
SAME AS LVL 60
Total Units for top Atk nd Def = 2100 ,
Upkeep=$105 mil
minimum income $105 mil
Safe income : 160 - 190 mil per hr
LVL 80 ; Units Controlled: 1200
Best Units Possible :
SAME AS LVL 60
Total Units for top Atk nd Def = 2400 ,
Upkeep=$120 mil
minimum income $120 mil
Safe income : 190- 230 mil per hr
MOST PPL BUY POINTS AT THIS POINT OF TIME TO BUILD INCOME SINCE THE UPKEEP JUMPS EXPONENTIALLY!
LVL 90 ; Units Controlled: 1350
Best Units Possible :
SAME AS LVL 60
Total Units for top Atk nd Def = 2700 ,
Upkeep=
$135 mil
minimum income
$135 mil
Safe income : 250-350 mil per hr
LVL 100 ; Units Controlled: 1500
Best Units Possible :
Atk/Def: Aurora Aircraft (165/100)
Total Units for top Atk nd Def = 1500 ,
Upkeep=$573.7 mil
minimum income =$573.7 mil
Safe income : 600 to 800 mil per hr
PS: THIS IS NOT BASED ON EXACT CALCULATIONS BUT IS BASED ON VERY GOOD ESTIMATES AND INPUTS FROM OTHER PLAYERS, DONOT FORGET TO BUILD DEFENSIVE BUILDINGS SIDE BE SIDE . THANKS AND HOPE THIS HELPS :)

Use Justcalcit.com to help you prepare to level up and tell you when it is safe to do so.
By GeekDaddy (QRNNP1)
Use Justcalcit.com not only to show you what you should be buying at your level, but also to determine whether you should level up or not. I've been in the aforementioned growth phase for some time when I realised that my defence points were far too low.....
Like many new players I come across, early in my game I had made some classic mistakes basically because I simply didn't understand the mechanics of the game:
* I had loads of superfluous units so that I could do all the missions with many units in reserve in case I lost them when attacked
* I had at least one of everything because I didn't realise that my Allies count was limited what I could play with (and it looked cool!)
* I had huge amounts of units that I could never hope to play (1000 infantry, 3000 medics etc)
* I had income units to cover most of my upkeep (upkeep was around 30% of income instead of the recommended 10%) but practically no defensive buildings as they "cost too much".
Somewhere around the 40's I followed the advise of someone who took close to $5million per attack from me and then was kind enough to comment on why it had happened (something I have "paid forward" with other players ever since). I sold all my units except Aircraft Carriers and B2's and then maxed those out as thankfully I had enough Allies. Suddenly, I was successfully defending all the time and winning every attack. But hubris got the better of me and I soon levelled above what I could successfully defend - all down to my defensive buildings. A plea was broadcast to my allies and one of them told me about Justcalcit.com and it all came together.....
So here I am at level 59 where I have been for three weeks now after spending the five weeks or so before that at level 58. All the time I have been in growth phase (or "turtleling" for you RTS players). At the time of writing I only have 77,629 of the maximum 97,530 defense points needed at my level (I have max 885 Carriers) but that isn't what I am aiming for. I need to hit 82,260 defense points before I can level to 60 and know that I'll be a tank and here's how I quickly work that out using the site:
* I take a note of my defense points with my current layout
* I change my level from 59 to 60 in justcalcit.com
* I set my Aircraft Carriers to 0 and the newly unlocked Elite Dreadnoughts to the maximum 900.
* This tells me that I am now only 4,631 defence points from reaching the maximum allowed at that level (99,000).
This is obviously a much better prospect than the 20,000 defence points I needed to get through acquiring defensive structures to tank at level 59. Of course, I can take this a step further:
* I change my level from 59 to 61 in justcalcit.com
* I set my Aircraft Carriers to 0 and the newly unlocked Elite Dreadnoughts to the maximum 915.
* This tells me that I am now only 5,111 defence points from reaching the maximum allowed at that level (100,650).
If I get myself to level 61 points, then I can happily attack through two levels without a care in the world
I know what you are thinking - why not close the gap right now? Well, it is down to me to get those defence points in place at level 59, when my net income is high, before the massive upkeep of the Elite Dreads kicks in ($70.2m). I also need to save up $6.5b: $5b for the 900 Elites and $1.5b for the 900 B2's.
Looks like I'll be a while but it will be very much worth it in the end.
See you at 200!
*****UPDATE*****
Thanks to Storm8's new Referrals scheme, I managed to get 224 Honour Points for free which enabled me to build up my defences quicker. So, here I am at Level 60 and the view is nice, but there are still things you can learn from me:
1. If you have lots of HP and are making a major level change, try to dump ALL your units before obtaining the HP and buying the new ones. Swapping my Carriers for Dreadnoughts meant that my HP cash in values HALVED because my income per hour dropped dramatically due to increased upkeep. Don't make the same mistake I did!
2. If you are getting farmed and loosing around 25% per hour, it is worth upgrading even if you are not quite there yet. If you can buy 10 new defence units then you will sell 10 old defence units and get half their money back. This should allow you to get your defence up sooner. YES, you will be exposed to tougher opponents sooner, but chances are the guy that is farming you will still be able to when you level up so you need to be better equipped as soon as possible.

THE RIDE
By Lt.AldoRaine
At some point in the game you will come up against what is known as a "farmer". Most players consider this to be someone who attacks more than 2-3 times in a day. The game is designed so that you can defend yourself against anyone at or below your level so I only consider it "farming" when the person attacking you is 2-3 level higher and repeatedly attacks because of the easy win due to the games' 5 times your level rule. A common tactic is to get everyone in your alliance to "sanction" the "farmer" until they surrender...but most of the time the "farmer" isn't concerned or in some cases wants to increase their death count so you find yourself playing their game. This is when I came up with what I like to call "The Ride". When you find yourself battling a player you just can't beat and you're at your ropes end...gather all your players together who cannot beat the "farmer" in a battle...and attack the "farmer" repeatedly! I know you're thinking "Why would I want to do that?" Well...in order to shake the "farmer" they need to be kept busy. Since they usually attack lower levels for the easy wins...you need to get them out of a power position. By attacking nonstop...they will gain experience points and be FORCED to LEVEL UP! If you can bump them up 5-10 levels...they won't have nearly enough defense or income and therefore will be a prime target for stronger players at their new level. They will now be the one getting "farmed" and you can go back to building and camping in peace. Should only be used as a last resort if you are concerned about your stats...but will give you great satisfaction because your enemy will be left crying and thinking about resetting because they'll never catch up. Muahahahahaha!

How to play this game the right way!!! (The Noobs guide to World War )
By Slappy (5PKJX3)
This tip is for all of you. But I think it will help the newer players at lower levels the most.
First off let us look at the formula of how this game works.
Example: You are level 10. This means that you can have a maximum of 50 allies. Why??? level 10 x 5 allies gives you a sum total of 50. Remember: your level x 5 gives you how many allies you can use.
Okay so now we know that we can bring in 50 allies at level 10. What the heck does that mean???? Here we go: For each ally we can use 6 units. Soooo. We know that we can bring 50 allies and we know that each ally can use 6 units. We come up with 50 allies x 6 units gives us 300 units. 50 x 6 = 300 Units. Hoorayy!!!!!
But wait. Believe it or not it's not that simple.
Now we have to pick our units. For the best attack/defense units you have to:
A) Max out the highest attack unit you have. For attack (at level ten) it will be the Harrier Jet with 24 attack points. So 300 Harriers with 24 attack points each will give us 300 units x 24 Harrier attack points = 7,200 attack points. (At this level the harrier has the most attack. You will gain more powerful units as you level up so change the math accordingly)
B) Max out the highest defense unit you have. For defense (at level 10) it will be the Naval Tanker with 20 defense points. So 300 Naval Tankers with 20 defense points each will give us 300 units x 20 Naval Tankers defense points = 6,000 defense points. (At this level the Naval Tanker has the most defense. You will gain more powerful units as you level up so change the math accordingly)
Sooo. We currently have 7,200 attack points and 6,000 defense points. What??? Does this mean that if everyone maxes out attack and defense at my level I will always lose???
Of course not my friends that is why we have defensive buildings.
Bottom line is this: Defensive buildings are the most important thing in this game if you never want to lose a battle that you did not start.
As another example: If you have gotten to level 10 without buying 1 single defense building but you DID max out on Naval tankers then you know you already have 6,000 defense points. The next step is to buy defense buildings until your reach 1200 building defense points and no one can beat you. My rule of thumb is Unit defense + Building defense should be at minimum 500 points over the current level of maximum attack points at your current level ( which is 7200 attack points at level 10 ).
Do not forget that you need a strong income to support a maxed out attack/defense unit structure. My goal is to have a maxed out attack/defense fleet with a net income that still generates over 80%. As you all know JustCalcit will you give that info.
Do not do missions until you have maxed out your attack/defense units at your particular level and also that you have bought enough defensive buildings to cover the gap of your defensive plan.
Defensive buildings are the most important in the long run of this game and they help immensely cover the gap that your defensive units leave open.
Just don't forget that all these attack and defense units plus the defense buildings are hugely expensive. We must all work out a balance between purchasing income buildings and everything stated above.
Good Luck and Enjoy

The best way to camp!
By Av (VH65W7)
Do you ever wonder how people have so much income and how they got such a powerful defense, at such a low level? I'll tell you how when camping. The best thing to do is buy the max amount of defense units and buy a load of defensive buildings until your defense is maxed at your level. The next thing to do is try to not comment people so that it will weaken the amount of attacks. The most important thing to have is patience. I am level 36 right now and in one week I have increased my income from 30 million to 63 million. Hope this helps you succeed in being a great player.

Make The Most Out of Your Honor Points
By NQR31
Honor points are very helpful and need to be used wisely. Aside from paying for the honor points the only other way is to wait until they are offered graciously for free by Storm8.
First of all, you made the right choice by deciding not to pay to add an Alliance Member and decided to receive money for your points. Initially the amount paid is only $10,000. Once you have invested into buildings and have enough reoccurring income, the amount paid is calculated as a multiple of your Money Flow (Income – Upkeep = Money Flow). The amount paid for 10 honor points increases as your Money Flow increases and is about 4x the Money Flow amount.
Real life example (I’m doing it right now). I have 50 honor points I want to spend. I make $31,423,100 each pay period. When I go to the president I can receive $125,741,000 for 10 Honor points. This is where most will make the mistake of spending all 80 Honor points and make an extra $628,705,000. Instead use 10 Honor points and then go spend the money on additional buildings. Then come back and spend another 10. The numbers for this example are below, but what is important is that instead of making $628,705,000 for my 50 Honor points I made $635,721,000. That is an additional $7,016,000 for spending my 50 Honor points wisely.
$125,741,000
$126,261,000
$127,119,000
$127,969,000
$128,631,000

$635,721,000

Allie Trick
By Valkyrie (4J654A)
You can get almost 400 allies easy just do this. Go to the recruit screen and put 11n11. And you can replace any of the 1s with a number between 1 and 4. So 23n43 like that. Its a different allie every time. It also works a little bit with 11t11. Not as many though. Good luck!

Use Your Points Wisely!
By Lady Jax (P1TVQ)
If you are a player that either likes to accumulate the free promotional points, or purchases the package of points through the application store, this tip is for you. When you decide to exchange your group of points for money, you will notice that there will be another exchange option where it appears that you can save time and instead of cashing in 10 points at a time for maybe $100,000 each, you can turn in 100 points for $10,000,000. Seems like the same amount of money, just quicker, right? Not quite. If you want to get the most money from your points, it is much more efficient to cash in your 10 points, and go buy the best possible property/slaves/traps/etc with what you have, then come back and cash in the next 10 points, and so on. You will notice that each time you purchase property/slaves/traps/etc, the amount of money you recieve for 10 points will increase. After that first exchange for 10 points and making an investment, you might come back and see that 10 points will now buy you $100,100! It is based on some percentage of your income. So this is the best way to get the most money out of your points. Hope this helps!

I’m the weakest player for my level
By Samson (CVPJX7)
Problem: You find yourself to be the weakest player in your peer group. You thought having the larger amount of allies would keep you safe. Now, you are a small fish in BIG POND!
Game Rule: World War groups people of the same level based on number of allies you have. I leveled up playing the missions and then awoke one day at level 40 with 1000+ allies. Early on, if you had the max friends/allies, you were immune to attack. Well, Storm8 changed that. I tried Long Chi Gu (T1VRUT) tip; but it was taking too long.
The solution, drop allies. As an example, at level 40, the max number of allies or “friends” is 200. I had over one thousand. Each one ally or friend factors into how many units you can control. The game groups you by the number of allies. In my case, at or near 200 friends would put you in the league with the strongest and largest player. So, I began dropping allies – yes, it was painful and it was time consuming. At some point you find the smaller ally pool where you can be the big fish. This is the place where you can afford to have the max number of the strongest units for all of your allies (see rules for formula). Another advantage is that this keeps stronger players with more allies and units from seeing you on the battle screen. Then you can build up safely and have a chance to preserve your win/loss ratio stats. As you get stronger, you can add the allies back; but this time you will be ready with units for each ally to control before adding

Total defense???
By YourDeadgran (4DBG2N)
When calculating the total amount of defense points for a level many players neglect the fact that there are other variables that need to be factored into this equation.
My current level is 27 where the total attack from the strongest unit is 55080, therefore the highest def for my level you would think is 55080?
Wrong
Take for example your chosen country bonus at 15%, (I think it's either this or 10% lol) if you are American this means that you get an air bonus for the x20 supersonic fighters that will increase your attack potential by 8262 points.
Then factor in the winning country bonus which is again 15% so 8262
Then take 8% bonus for looted weapons munition which is 4406
Add these together and you have a total possible attack of 76010 for level 27!
So basically if you are any other country other than American on this level you will get pounded unless your defense is completely solid.
There are a few parameters I have left out such as the Brit bonus for water units increasing the defensive capabilities of stillettos and the fact that storm 8 has created real life gameplay in that all units will not be functioning 100% all the time due too sickness, mechanical faults etc but the fact remains the same in that to guarantee absolute safety at your level you will need way more than you previously thought.
In my case I plan to aim for 80000 and then try and maintain a a level of 4000/5000 def points above the total possible attack for my current level including the above factors.
Hope this helps

Alliances. To join or not to join.
By VIRGIN MARY (Z4VM1M)
Every war has alliances. In WorldWar alliances have their advantages and disadvantages. For most players, the main reason to joining an alliance is to gain protection from other players. In addition to providing "strength in numbers", many alliances have a mission, such as to fight infamous farmers, or attack players considered to be "pottymouths". There are also alliances created to service one demographic, such as the 'Brit Alliance' for players utilizing the United Kingdom flag. Each alliance has its own set of rules for joining, and for participating in, the alliance. Some alliances have a lot of rules, others are more lax. Alliances are also a great way to bond with players, and to have something to do rather than just climb towards level 200.
While alliances offer protection and often carry out good deeds, membership can also have disadvantages. Some alliances have rules which can limit the way you communicate, place restrictions on who you can, or can't attack, and can place you in a position of having to take action that was determined by the alliance leadership rather than you. Just like an alliance can protect you through means of collective safety, they can also put you in harm's way. Another alliance, or individual player, that has a problem with your alliance or any of it's members may suddenly start attacking and/or sanctioning you simply because of your membership.
Advice: Take your time to when considering alliance membership. Follow the alliance for at least a week to see how it functions, what it's rules are, and who is in it. If you just started to play WorldWar, it's important to learn about the game and what style of play is good for you before joining an alliance. This way you can be sure that you are a good match with any alliance you're considering joining. Keep in mind that being a good alliance member has it's dues, joining an alliance will require some of your playtime and resources to carry out the actions that your alliance is taking. (This should also be considered when deciding whether to join more than one alliance) A tactical consideration, especially if joining an alliance only for protection, is to weigh whether membership is saving you, or costing you, more resources. Remember, you can always leave an alliance, but it takes time and good communicating to let other players, friends and foes, know when you have left.

Tips If You Are Being "Farmed"
By Lady Jax
If you find yourself being "farmed" or repeatedly attacked by the same person over a long period of time, here are some tips to remember:
- The best and most obvious thing to do is to get onto your account as often as possible and lower your health so that the farmers cannot attack you. Sometimes it works well if you can get friends to also attack you so that your money is going to them and not your farmer.
- To keep your money safe, you should either bank it right away or quickly invest into properties. Banking is good because it is quick and easy, but you lose 10% of every transaction. In the long run, that can almost be as much as the farmer is taking from you, so this is not always the best method to preserving your money. The other option is to invest into the properties, so you are not losing money, and in the long run you will be making more.
- The MOST INPORTANT tip when being farmed: DO NOT COMMENT THEM! If you check their comment page, farmers have players crying to them all the time about how mean and unfair they are. You are not going to stop them with one whiney comment. Also, as soon as you leave them that comment, they now have a permanent link to you and will continue their farming. One thing you need to remember is that if you do NOT comment them, the only way they can find you to attack you is on the battle list, and as soon as they level up your name will not appear on that list anymore. Therefor, you need to just tough it out and use the preventative measures above until they level up, which is usually pretty quick. Also, DO NOT send a friend request to a known farmer either. This also creates a permanent link for them to find you.
You need to remember that it is true that farmers can play however they want and there are no rules for how much and how often they can attack you. Thats why you just need to adopt this defensive method and tough it out. Most farmers thrive on players reactions, so to provide none and prevent them from taking much from you is the best way to discourage them. Getting your "teams" or "armies" to fight them usually just entertains them, much easier and safer to wait it out. I have used this method on all of the Storm8 games and farming usually only lasts about a day and then they have moved on. It works :)

More Allies
By Valkyrie (4j654a)
If you are looking for more allies, then there are some great places to find them.
Go to the sanctions list and look through the comments of the level 200 guys. People post their codes there 24/7.
Ask your friends to broadcast you, this way you get at least half of their allies. This works better if the person you ask has more allies.
This way costs a little money. Storm8 made an app just for World War codes! But its 99 cents this is a good way but not the best because its still a fairly new app and not a lot of people have it.
I hope this was helpful!

How to Add Allies - The Right Way
By AriMan (KJ92T8)
One commonly employed strategy in this game is to add as few allies as possible. In doing so, you can build up a vast fighting force fairly quickly, and crush people with equally small (or smaller) forces. But what happens when the ally separation tiers break down and you're under attack from larger forces? You'll need to add allies.
First, NEVER send an ally request on your own. When they accept, you will face even bigger armies before you're ready. Put your code up on sites like this, and stockpile alliance requests from others.
Next, decide how many allies you want to add. Preferably, you'll want to end up with a number that is a multiple of 4. Using this site's calculator, determine how many additional units and buildings you'll need to withstand enemy attacks from people at that ally level.
Then, start camping while you obtain the necessary units and buildings. Do this beforehand to minimize vulnerability. Finally, add the allies that you intended to add initially. When you add allies like this, you can prevent large armies from overpowering you when you're not ready to face them.

The More Allies the Better: Why 10,000 allies is far more effective than 1,000.
By Ryan SVPSV (SVPSV)
Several previous tips here suggest that there is no value to having over 1,000 allies. In one sense they're correct. Since you can only use 5 times the allies of your level, even at level 200 you can only use 1,000 allies in battle.
However, allies are far more valuable outside of battle than others realize.
As of writing this I'm approaching 15,000 allies. And I add 300-400 every day. When I need something, I can broadcast my request to 15,000 people for help. While I only know a very small fraction of my allies, I can have hundreds come to my aid at a moments notice. This is especially true if I offer to broadcast their code in exchange for help. Since a broadcast from me can result in 50-100 new allies, I find people are more than willing to help out.
So how do you get thousands of allies?
If you're new you need to start from scratch. Invite the maximum allowed codes a day (300) for a few days to gain a base. (Use this website or others like it and keep track so you don't duplicate your effort)
Next, begin offering to exchange broadcasts with other people. Let them know how many allies you have so they can see the value in the trade. A user with 500 allies might want to broadcast a friend with 3,000 allies several times to make the trade fair.
Others suggested copy-n-pasting your code on lots of users comment boards. This is not cool. Many regard this as spam and may lead to sanctions.
The only down side I see to so many allies is that the Alliance panel is limited to 5,000. It used to be totally broken, so I'm happy to see at least a third of my allies. Thanks Storm8!
So get to work and build your alliances. And next time that pesky obnoxious army starts bothering you again, you can show them that you're far from alone.

General tips
By HMS Repulse (XNWHAC)
--Noob Guide--
The max people you can successfully use in your alliance is Your Level * 5 (ie. At level 20 you can successfully use 100 allies.) Also each one of your allies uses 6 units (ie. If you have 20 allies the number of units you need support all of them is 20*6 which = 120 units.) Please see below, "Your Economy" for help with increasing your economy, "Going War" for how to act during war, and "Golden Levels" for step-by-step camping spots.
--Your Economy--
World War is a pacing game for your economy versus your level. If you level up to fast your economy will suffer in the long run. With this in mind it's best to take each level at a very slow pace. A great idea is to always make sure that even after upkeep for your units your income is = to or greater then your current lvl by millions.
--Going To War--
War. War never changes. NEVER and I mean NEVER give the enemy a link, no matter what insults, or questions, they throw at you don't ever respond to them on their page, this is called "hard linking" and will be your downfall or theirs. BUT if you insist on responding do so on your wall OR after you've completely cleared your wall of ALL friendly comms.
--Golden Levels--
Level 8- Stay here until you have your max allies (40), max units (240) of Naval Tankers (Cost $90,000ea; Upkeep $0) and have at least 100 of ea income building, or 2 mil, and 50 of each defensive.
Level 12- same amount of allies as well as unit type but increase income to 8 mil before leveling up to next golden level.
Level 15- Change your main unit to the M80 Stilleto (Cost $320,000; Upkeep $4,500) your income should be around 15 mil after upkeep.
Level 25- increase allies to 65 or so and change your main unit to Heavy Equipment Transporter (Cost $225,000; Upkeep $3,500). Your income before leveling up should be 25 million or more per hour after upkeep, preferably more.
Level 35- Camp here till your making double your level in income after upkeep or more. Bring your allies up in your alliance up slowly and switch your units to Carriers (Cost $1.3 mil; Upkeep $15,000)
Level 40- Again, CAMP HERE! This is the prime level to camp at due to two things: 1) New income building. 2) The Carrier is still the best defensive unit for it's price as well as upkeep. You going to want to stay here until you have your max alliance, units, and money. Example: I have 200 in my alliance, 1200 units, and am going to reach 200-250 million before head to the next camping spot, which is twenty levels away.

Don't Panic...
By L.L.M.F. Whooa (QMTN2)
If you panic and spend your hard earned money on retaliation you will regret it. My best advice is don't leave a load of comments on peoples wall if you want to grow. Take your time, buy income and defense properties at the same time. Try to do this half and half, if you find yourself getting beat up don't leave a code on the attackers wall. Ignore that clown and in time as you build up your defenses they will find a juicier target. Joining a clan can help but it can also make you a target of many instead of one or a few. Making allies
By Raker (C2v2rv)
Having alot of allies has it's advantages and disadvantages. Some of the advantages are, if you are investing in units for defence, that you can control more units (3 units per ally, but keep in mind that your level may also affect the max number of units you can control). This gives you the capability to have greater amounts of defence points without having to buy extremely expensive buildings. Having alot of Allies is also good for those of you who like to attack as well.
Some easy ways to get allies - create a message like "want to be my ally? (insert code)" and copy it. Then just click on random people in the battle, sanction, or comments sections, and paste it into their comment sections.
Also, on justcalcit.com, you can click on the "codes" link, to link you to a page full of codes. You can write them down and then recruit them, or you can add your name to the list and wait for others to recruit you.
And finally, you can broadcast a message to your allies, asking them to broadcast your code to their allies. Don't forget to put your code in the broadcast to let them know what it is though!

The power camp!
By bearclaw (28a3tg)
I found myself at level 23 in a couple of days. As you can assume, I had little defensive buildings and income buildings. I began to seek players to farm which is not my style. So I said to myself "it's time to camp"! Great! The only defense I had was to keep my health at 27 or below. By the way, the mid 20 level's is good camping grounds due to the oil rig being available.
I will tell you to take in all the advise you have read so far in this forum, for most of it applies to all. I hope this posting makes it to the bottom as to not create confusion.
Here is a twist on camping. I have to admit that a good buddy of mine turned me on to this and it works great.
Camping takes a long time and you must be patient. I'm apparently unable to do this. During my camp, I constantly found myself in conflicts adding experience points now and then which is bad for camping. You do not want to level up while camping.
So, I picked fights I knew I was going to loose to keep me below the 27 health mark. This keeps me off the battle board and safe from farmers and enemies - not to mention I can avoid the 10% vault charge. A simple timer let me know when it was time to take another shot to bring my health below 27.
I rid my fleet of all upkeep assets only keeping looted assets in play to max my hourly income while I build. I have never been sooooo bored. It worked but no fun. I found that attacking people on my level to put me back down would not always provide me the same amount time between shots. This played a big part when I had headphones on at night to hear the timer go off without disturbing other people. Waking up every 30 - 60 minutes is hard. But with no defense to speak of, a must for me. I'm the type that won't reset.
So, my buddy who is currently on level 16 likes to hit the sanctions list. I guess he hit the wrong player to kill and attacked someone on level 176 or something stupid like that. My buddy took massive damage which left him with 1 health point. The fella took a loss of 1 to his health. My buddy lost this battle but won the war to his surprise. That 1 point killed the sanctioned member. My buddy collected 1.4mil in bounty. He gained no experience points because he lost the battle.
Any time I take a shot now it is against a monster on the sanctions list. This darn near kills me and gives me more that an hour between shots sometimes. Occasionally I pull down a nice bounty. Great extra income for buildings.
I have since built up enough defense to win the attacks I take at my level so that is s sign of improvement in my army. But, I will still take the shots whenever I can during the day to prevent the few experience points that are accumulated from winning an attack.
As a side note..... Prepare to be sanctioned a few times. No one likes being killed by a loser. (this happened to my buddy not me)!
This is the power camp. It adds a little more revenue to the normal camp.

Always Buy the Highest Priced Items First
By The Chap (9YCWMK)
When withdrawing a large amount to buy multiple items, try to reduce your health below the attack threshold first, so as to reduce the risk of losing some of the money. Also, even if you can reduce your health, always buy the most expensive items first to reduce your cash in hand as quickly as possible. Then if you are attacked, or hit-listed/sanctioned/etc, you stand to lose less.

Attack & defense points
By Freddie (M4TTYR)
For anyone who is unsure of anything to do with attack/defense, attack is calculated purely from your units' attack whereas defense is a conglomeration of units' and buildings' defense.
The maximum attack for your given level can be achieved if you purchase the maximum number of highest attack units you can control at that level.
I will use an example appropriate for level 60:
So, for example, the maximum number of units you can control at Level 60 is 1,800. The maximum attack available at level 60 is 306,000. The unit with the highest attack available at Level 60 is the MQ-8B Fire Scout Helicopter (170pts.) Purchasing the maximum 1,800 of these at Level 60 would provide you with a defense of, you guessed it, 306,000 (1,800 x 170.)
A better attack option at Level 60 however, would probably be the F15 Silent Eagle Fighter (142pts.) This is because the MQ-8B Fire Scout Helicopter is expendable (0 defense) and is lost in battle frequently.
The F15 Silent Eagle Fighter has a defense of 12, and if 1,800 were bought, it would add 21,600 points to your defense and would give you an attack of 255,600.
If you did this, obviously you would have to supplement your huge attack with a huge defense. 255,600 attack would mean almost certain victory when attacking, but anyone attacking you would have a field day with your measly 21,600 defense from your units plus whatever defense you have from your buildings. You would have to have a whole load of buildings (and then some) to supplement your attack. This would be very hard work and would take a lot of time, but if given the correct application, could make you virtually unstoppable.

Build Mode
By SoopJuda (TSTP6K)
Before you start buying a bunch of equipment set a goal for where you would like your income to be. Only buy equipment that you need to complete a mission and then sell it while your energy builds back up. I know that you lose money when you sell equipment but it more than balances out with the money that you earn from the missions and the money you save from not having to keep paying upkeep. I didn't start keeping equipment that required upkeep until I reached $125m/50 minutes in income. Now I keep my income between $115m-$130m/50 minutes which still leaves me plenty of room to purchase new equipment while giving me income to purchase more property. You may not want to set your goal so high because it takes a long time to get there and you will lose many fights because you are so weak. Also, don't deposit your money in the bank while in build mode. If you deposit $1B you automatically lose $100m!! It's best to just stay in the hospital by keeping your energy below 27. That means attacking people even though you know that you are going to lose. It is better to attack someone and lose than to have someone attack you. If you attack and lose, you don't lose any money. If someone attacks you and they win, not only do you lose the energy but you lose some money as well. But even if someone does attack you and take some of your money, they should not be able to take more than 10% before you wind up back in the hospital if you've kept your energy low. Besides, you should rarely have too much money out if you are constantly buying new property and trying to build your income. Okay then....Happy building!!!

‘Always buy the lower priced!’ Sequel
By Montrose (JGTW9Y)
When you are building up income to purchase the property with the lowest P/H ratio, keep on the look out for the next lowest P/H property. It is possible that as you build up for property #1, you can actually buy property #2 and property #3 if there is excess in the total income generated when finally purchasing property #1. Thus you can buy property #2, #3… earlier and earn this property’s income while waiting to buy property #1.

Offense & Defense - Not So Black & White
By AriMan (KJ92T8)
JustCalcIt is pretty cool. It's extremely helpful to anybody playing World War especially. But the Defense Calculator is not entirely accurate, and thus, you will need to take some matters into your own hands.
First, all units have some amount of Attack and some amount of Defense. Even things like Aircraft Carriers have Attack. When you calculate battles, factor this in. For example, let's assume that Bob attacks Bill. Bob has 10 Stilletos and Bill has 10 HETs. Assuming that luck is not a factor, than even if Bill has 3 Bunkers, Bob will win due to higher Attack.
Secondly, remember to multiply bonuses like the 8% PGM bonus, the 15% winning country bonus, and a 15% bonus to applicable units commanded by a certain country. Here's a run-down on getting these bonuses.
PGM - Complete Rank 2 of all Missions under Tab 1.
Winning Country - Self explanatory.
Country bonuses -
America - Air
UK - Water
China - Infantry
Germany - Ground
Thirdly, you should always build more Defensive Buildings than you need due to luck. Luck is a huge factor in this, and you want to be protected if it's not in your favor.
In conclusion, it is absolutely vital that you remember all of this. Applying this just might save you some money - or your behind.

Missions While Camping
By AriMan (N2JTYC)
One strategy one may choose to use whilst camping is to do simple
missions for extra cash. By simple, I mean the very first mission
offered. The one requiring no troops and 9 Energy. In addition to
the money earned from that, you can also sell the loot you get. While
not a major income source, it can be done hundreds of times before you
level up, and is something to do while waiting for income. Besides,
what else would you do with the Energy? Furthermore, if you do
somehow level up, it may not be a bad thing. You can spend Skill
Points on vital Defense boosts or gain access to an ultra-awesome new
unit.

Everyone in my level is way stronger then me HELP!!
By charmen (VUUZM)
If you seem to level up really quickly you may notice you have a hard time keeping up with the new units that your unlocking so you might be way weaker then people that are at the same level as you. The easiest thing to do is sell all the units that have pretty much no defense and offense (eg: minigunners, marines) and buy only the tough units (eg: aircraft carriers, dreadnoughts, b2-bombers) those 3 are some of the only units you should have because they are the toughest you can get which will boost your defense and offense by a long shot. While you are boosting your defense and offense a lot, do not attack or try to level up because that will result in tougher enemies to fight and more farmers. The first thing you need to do is boost your defense either using the calculator on this site or boosting your income and buying units with a lot of defense and if anything tougher comes out sell the unit that you mainly use and buy the new one. One of the best units to have for defense is the aircraft carrier because it has 60 defense which is more then a minefield and is way cheaper. If your deciding on how many to have just see how many units you use it battle and base it on that and remember to buy more when you level up. After your defense is really high you can start leveling up and working on your offense and now you should be doing really good and the higher your defense the less attacks you will get so less losses and then you can look better online. Enjoy your hard earned success :-)

The Way to Play (Never get killed, low upkeep and high income!)
By LiL WaYNe (8RPXRD)
Right now im at lvl 13 and i have not attacked one person besides for the first general in the tutorial. And so far i have 46 wins and 0 loses. I am going to show you how to never lose a fight, make a lot of income and plan for the future.
First of all, you have to be patient when u first start at around lvls 1-5. You dont attack the general right away because then you are very vulnerable to attacks from players. What you do is only do missions until you get to lvl 3. Invest all of your skill points to defense. You should only keep an alliance of 4 to start and invest first on income buildings. YOU STILL SHOULDNT HAVE ATTACKED THE GENERAL THAT THEY TELL YOU TO!! After you have a reasonable income (10-20k) start buying Transport ships. buy 12 and then you wait. Now just keep buying income buildings and defense buildings. Stay on lvl 3 until you own 13 bunkers or more. Now you can attack the general they tell you to and move to lvl 4.
At lvl four you need to buy 3 more bunkers to be ready for lvl 5+6. now you should have 145 defense, while they can have a max of 144 attack. Now dont attack any other players and dont comment on players profiles. Post your code on this website, BUT DONT ACCEPT OR DECLINE, just let the requests add up. keep doing missions until you get to lvl 7 where you buy 12 Naval tankers right away. Now you are safe until about lvl 11. Before you lvl up to 11 make sure you have 84 defense in buildings or skill points. Keep buying income buildings and defensive buildings using this website.
You now keep checking what you need for the next level and make sure you have more defensive points then they can have offensive. You do this by just multiplying the best offensive unit they can have by 12 and the best defensive unit you can have by 12 and subtracting. What ever is left is how much defense you need worth of buildings and skill points.
You can slowly add to your alliance, 5 at a time(4 to 9, 9 to 14). because then you are at the top of your section. BEFORE YOU ADD ALLIANCE MEMBERS, make sure you have enough money and income to support the extra units. and make sure you will have enough defensive buildings so u cant be killed.
My Personal Stats at level 13:
Alliance: 15(i have more defense then someone at lvl 19 can have so i want them to attack me thinking that i will be weak)
Attack:1
Defensive skills:36
Energy:110 (I do the mission that requires 108 energy. it is in the plains section)
Health:100
Ammo:3
Buildings:
Supply depot: 44
Bunker: 74
Refinery: 29
Barracks:0
Guard Tower: 32
Weapons Factory:18
Anti-Aircraft Launcher: 12
Power Plant: 9
Units:
Paratroopers:6
Naval Tanker: 44
Patrol Planes: 2
(Paratroopers and Patrol Planes are for the mission I do)
Upkeep: ONLY 72,400!!!!
Income:961,100
I have already planned for the future so i will tell you what to do past lvl 13 if you want. Email me at rmclaughlin1233@me.com and if enough people ask for it then i will make another tip.
Farewell and Goodluck

How to play the game WITHOUT camping
By Jiedushi (J6TYE)
When you are building you army (levels 20 – 70+) these tips will allow you to fight battles and have fun without the boredom of camping.
- Keep your upkeep at between 26% - 29% of income. If you go higher it may feel good for a while but you will run out of money as you get level to 50+ and you will need to stop and camp.
- Ensure all your armies are armed – but don’t be tempted with expensive items
o Level 20 - start consolidating a begin buying Naval Tankers
o Level 30 - build to 600 Naval Tankers – increase as you level up and gradually swap them to
o Level 40 - have 1200 Heavy Equipment Transporters – increase as you level up and gradually swap them to
o Level 50 - have 1500 Armored Snow Hovercrafts – increase as you level up and gradually swap them to
o Level 70 – by the time you get to level 70 should be mostly armed with Aircraft Carriers
- restrict expensive items to only those needed to do your mission – once completed sell and buy the next lot
- if to want to do some attacking at level 60 use plenty of IAI Harop Aircraft – whilst expendable they are cheap and easy to buy, attack, and sell back – great fun!
These tips mean you can play at every session and build your income so that you don’t have the boredom of camping… but if you are going on vacation for 4 days or more (and not able to go online) - Sell EVERYTHING to maximize income – when you come home they’ll be tons of cash to rebuild your armies and buy buildings.

Start Out with Max Honor Points!
By Capt. Wolverine (B8VK6F)
If you are just starting out with a new account for the first time, as we all know you have an opportunity to get free honor points by installing Storm8's other apps. Did you know that if you reset your World War account using the president you can then go to each of the other Storm8 apps, reset those accounts to rebuild your free Honor Points! I did this recently to keep trying for rare items from accepting "Unknown Shipment(s)". This helps max defense and income through the low levels by not buying so many bunkers because the Rare CV90120T Tank is 60 attack and 40 defense!
Just keep resetting all accounts STARTING WITH WORLD WAR until you have looted the set of rare loot you would like to start out with, it may take you some time, but think of it as 165 honor points is equal to over $10 US and each time you reset (average time is 5 minutes to do them all) you will be saving $10 searching for rare items. At the time I started the max free honor points you could get was 160, but I think they recently added another 35, which you get from upgrading the free World War 20 Honor Points to the Free World War 35 Honor points. I am not certain however that if you only have the 35 installed that you will get the original 20. My guess is that you will need both apps installed and start out in the 20 then move over to the 35. So I would try it in this pattern:
1. Reset WW HP 35
2. Reset WW HP 20
3. Reset all other installed Storm8 apps.
4. Open WW HP 20
5. Create account (buy your first Supply Depot for the $30,000 credit, not necessary, just a good practice for a brand new account)
6. Open WW HP 35
7. You should have 195 HP!
If you only have 160 to 175 HP I would reverse the order of steps 1 and 2 to see if that works. I can't test the WW HP 20 to WW HP 35 upgrade theory without resetting my current account, so if it works, please someone let justcalcit.com know. You might even need to uninstall WW HP 35 first then reset your account on WW HP20, follow steps 3 through 6 to see if that works. Again, please help me test out the theories and let the rest of us know. Have fun with my tip!

Do you realy need alot of allies?
By Valkyrie (4j654a)
In my opinion you don't need a lot of allies. You have to supply the
troops and then your upkeep goes up while income goes down. Don't think
that to be good at this game you need tons of allies. When you get
into the higher levels(40+) it would be best to have more allies. I am level
35 and have 1170 allies and its so HARD to supply the troops.
Especially since the good units at my level are over 1mil with terrible
upkeep.
So don't make it a big deal to get tons of allies just go with the flow.

World War Tips
By Snow C4 (REECPT)
Tip 1: Camping for High Levels
When you get to s higher level (50-100) and you realize that you are loosing all of your battles but cant afford any major purchases, sell all of your units that have upkeep and camp. Camping is where you do not do missions but rather save and work on your income. After a while you will be able to buy what ever you want and still have a higher income then most of the players on your level. This takes patience.
Tip 2: Defense Buildings; Before you make your decision
Unless you have a ton of money in your vault, I would not recommend buying defense buildings. It is just way to expensive to blow your money on unless you saved up enough to have a defense higher than the max attack on the level with zero income, don't waist your money.
Tip 3: "Gangs"
I am in a gang, and I think it is very important to be in a gang because the sanctioners and farmers you will come across in the game will get a lot of attacks instead of a couple from just you. You have a max sanction amount, but with a gang you can really get them back. It is very helpfull.

Don't Overdo Defensive Buildings
By Wayneman (9VJJQA)
With big gaps between levels with new buildings, it can sometimes take a long time to level up. You can shorten the time period by making yourself appear to be vulnerable to attack.
First, calculate the maximum attack points for your level/alliance bracket.
Next, only keep enough defensive buildings and defensive units to exceed the maximum attack points total plus 100-150 points to account for some of the high-attack point looted items that people have in their arsenal.
Also, most people tend to make quick assessments, and don't look at all defensive buildings. Take advantage of these players by abandoning ROI and buying fewer bunkers and guard towers in favor of higher level defensive buildings.
Finally, since defensive buildings can get expensive, consider completing your defensive points with lower-tier, high defense units. I'm level 20, where the highest defense are stilettos (35) and helicopter carriers (34). I purchased tankers (20) instead. Much lower upkeep and less imposing at first glance.
If a potential opponent is doing the math, none of the above matters - they won't attack you regardless of your defensive point allocation. This is snare the cursory players who can contribute 5-10 wins and experience points each day.

World War for dummies
By Gen. Petraeus (NHTJSP)
Now I have heard that buildings never go obselete. I usually do not go to these tips boards, but I have made my profile a pretty good one in that matter. One, I have raised it from the dead. In the first 2 months I had the game I had a great time getting to lvl 20. I did all of the missions and everything I needed to do to get to a higher lvl, but the one thing I didn't do was get more defensive and attack units. I didn't have any income really. So here's what happened.
Lvl 19 the lvl I realized I couldn't beat anyone.
Lvl 18 stats- 279 wins 120 losses
1 naval destroyer, 5 looted units, etc. Not too good for an army but I kept attacking and got a bunch of money. Battles were my main source of income and I targeted very bad people.
Lvl 19- 298 wins. 180 losses
I started to get hit after that and couldn't combat anybody. I left for about 2 weeks. Came back.
BAM! 298 wins 350 losses.
I couldn't believe it. So I reset my account. Took no advice except when I asked a guy named sean he is an American. He told me to get my income from 200,000 which I thought was exceptional to 2 million. So I embarked on a long journey to get that 2 million. About a week later I had the money. But that fluctuated. I got defensive units nothing else and it went down a lot. About to around 950,000. But I had maxed on defense for my units. About 2-3 weeks after I reset I was a lvl 27. I had a good defense and good stats. I left for Germany- had a music festival and Didn't have access to wifi. I almost went crazy!!! I knew my defense would do it's job but I literally knew that some would still attack. I was sitting at a cafe in hinterzarten that's where the music festival happened. Bam! wifi. Got on and looked at my account. I nearly flipped. (in a good way) I had been attacked twice, my stats confirmed it, but not in losses, in wins. I had over 250 million in my account, and I used the money to get more income. A couple days later, another 125 million. Then I knew that that was the key. Income and defense. But I didn't pay attention to the buildings except for income. Got to 8 million. I got aircraft carriers. Lots and lots of them and maxed out. But then I realized I would only have 2 million in income. I didn't want to wait like I did the last time to get a lot of money so I sold my aircraft carriers. I bought armoured snow things which had high defense 48. Maxed on those. Didn't have people attack me too often. At lvl 35 I realized that I needed to switch my snow things to aircraft carriers. I built up my income and moved to lvl 36 which is presently where I am now. I sold 12 millitary research centers out of my 22, and got around 500-600 million from selling them. You may think that is stupid but I invested those points in building defense because I recognized that that was important too. Because I said that I needed to switch my fleet of snow to aircraft carriers, I am in the process of switching them, and I am halfway through. My income is at 12 million. Once I finish the switch, I will invest in defense but mainly income. Since I have school, and I have to have wifi to play, I can actually accumalate income to do things. My stats now? 1184 wins 366 losses, 118 kills, and 78 deaths. Income and defense are key to this game and that is how I did that.
Now talking about the tip of avoiding world peace, I disagree. To win in this game you have to avoid large scale wars and sanctions. Once you get a strong army you can afford to get into large scale wars but some idiots think that they can manage a war against lvl 60's when they are at lvl 17. The other thing, they have 2 mil in income or less. Don't be an idiot. Wait till you are at least a lvl 30 to wage wars! That is all.

Defensive buildings: To buy or not to buy
By Long Chi Gu (T1VRUT)
I recently had cause to re-think my policy about buying buildings for defense. I did this because I realized the defensive points I had as a result of my buildings had cost hundreds of millions to acquire but totaled only 2682. At the same time, my units gave me a defensive total of 16,800 points.
At the time, level 48, I had 240 Tank Blasters, 240 Carriers and 240 B-2 Bombers. So, as an experiment, I sold all my defensive buildings, disbanded my Tank Blasters, and purchased Mammoth Tanks with the proceeds instead. The result was that my defensive points soared to 22,800. A substantial improvement. My attack points naturally improved as well. I could have improved defensively even further, and for less money, by buying Armored Snow Hovercraft, but I wanted the attack capability.
In practice, this improvement has worked to my advantage. Purely coincidentally, a couple of new players were messing around with the sanction mode, and I was attacked multiple times in the process. To my considerable amusement I won seven consecutive battles, being attacked by people of approximately the same or higher level than myself. Not having defensive buildings has not hurt me one bit.
I grant you, there will come a point, later in the game, when the only way to improve defensive points will be to acquire the necessary buildings. At level 200, if you optimize attack and defense, the only room for defensive improvement is buildings.
However up to my level at least, unless you've expended huge amounts of money already, I would have to say not to worry about buying defensive buildings, simply make sure you have a good balance of unit capabilities. Spend the money saved on improved or increased numbers of units, and buildings that generate income.
